Studio Equipment

All our equipment is communal and available for residents who have permanent benches and for people to use as part of our daily pay as you go access.

  • Casting

We have a dedicated soldering and casting area for sand casting. Other casting options are available in our back yard including spaghetti casting and water casting. For cuttle fish casting please bring your own cuttlefish.

Due to Casting needing extra resources we ask for a small additional fee of £5 per session to cover your disposables.

  • Processing Scrap

We have a rolling mill with flat, square and D wire options.

We also have draw plates of various sizes with Durston draw grips.

  • Kiln

We have a Paragon Kiln perfect for enamel, metal clay, lustre and investment casting.

FAQs

Do I need to be confident with using equipment?

You need to have experience but if you are a little unsure please ask. New signups will have an induction to the equipment and to health and safety.

Can I make suggestions for new equipment?

Absolutely, members of the tool hire community can absolutely make requests for new equipment. We will aim to do at least an annual tool update to keep the studio relevant and useful.
